Michigan State did not have much movement in this week’s Coaches Poll. In fact, it had none at all.

But when you start as high as the Spartans did, that’s not a bad thing.

Michigan State stayed at the No. 6 spot of the Week 2 Coaches Poll. The Spartans’ Week 2 opponent, Oregon, was ranked one spot ahead of them at No. 5. Fittingly, the game opened up with an even spread.

The ranking comes four days removed from a 37-24 win at Western Michigan to kick off the season.

The Spartans were one of three Big Ten teams that cracked the Coaches Poll. Ohio State came in at No. 1 with 63 of the 64 first-place votes while Wisconsin dropped six spots to No. 24, which was the biggest fall of any team in the country.

Michigan State will look to get the Big Ten’s first victory against a top five team in 2015 when Oregon comes to East Lansing on Saturday.
