Of all the things to steal, a mascot’s on-campus method of transportation is an odd thing to settle on.

Apparently somebody really did that. And if it was a joke, it isn’t one anymore.

The Michigan State University Police Department is searching for whoever stole Sparty’s golf cart. As seen here, the green golf cart features MSU logos on both sides and in the front:

Police said that someone stole the vehicle from the MSU Union on Sunday and that it hasn’t been seen since.

It’s worth noting that Michigan State and Michigan have had their fair share of prank wars recently, most of which involved defacing of on-campus statues. Apparently that’s what some believe this is a part of:

You can contact Detective Chad Davis at 517-355-2226 or at davisc@police.msu.edu if you have any information on the stolen golf cart.
