A third member of Michigan State’s basketball team has entered the NCAA transfer portal.

Chris Solari of the Detroit Free Press reported on Tuesday that Thomas Kithier has decided to explore his options outside of East Lansing. He joins Jack Hoiberg and Rocket Watts to hit the transfer portal since the end of the 2020-21 season.

Kithier has been at Michigan State for three seasons. He’s played in 86 career games with the Spartans.

Kithier is a 6-foot-8  junior out of Clarkston, Michigan. He appeared in 26 games last season, which included 14 starts. He averaged 2.4 points and 2.5 rebounds per game.

Over this three seasons at Michigan State, Kithier has averaged 2.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per contest. He’s logging 9.6 minutes per contest and has started 19 total games.

With the NCAA granting an additional year of eligibility for all winter student-athletes, Kithier still has two years of eligibility remaining.
