Tom Izzo dedicates gritty hoops win over Michigan to fellow head coach
Tom Izzo and the Michigan State Spartans sweated out a win over rival Michigan Saturday, winning 59-53. Postgame, head coach Tom Izzo said that he dedicated the win to Mel Tucker.
Michigan State’s football coach and the Spartans fell to Michigan 29-7 this season after winning a thrilling game in 2021, 37-33.
If there’s one thing Spartans and their fans love, it’s downing Michigan.

The Spartans are off to an up and down start as we near the halfway point of the schedule. Michigan State has won 6 in a row and is 3-1 in B1G play, scoring wins over Kentucky, Michigan, Penn State and Villanova while falling to the likes of Northwestern, Alabama, Gonzaga and Notre Dame.
Michigan State takes on Wisconsin this coming Tuesday, looking to improve to 4-1 in B1G play.
