Tom Izzo names new potential nonconference opponent for next season, addresses transfer portal
Tom Izzo met with media Wednesday to give a quick sneak peak at a few potential Michigan State opponents for next season.
Already confirmed is Michigan State’s battle against Duke in the Champions Classic, but he also said the Spartans could face off against Arizona in Palm Springs.
Both those matchups, if Arizona comes to fruition, will be tons of fun.
Izzo on scheduling, says he thinks MSU will be playing Duke in the Champions Classic and playing Arizona in Palm Springs in a one-play game. “As we find out who we have & everyone has, scheduling will take place a little later than it has.”

Izzo also gave a little insight into how Michigan State will handle its talented incoming group next year. Jeremy Fears, a 5-star point guard and one of the 2 5-stars Michigan State will bring in, is likely set to see plenty of time running points next season.
Izzo says he expects to play more than one point guard at a time regularly next season, with Jeremy Fears joining the program.

Finally, Izzo said he does not expect any changes from a roster standpoint, insinuating there will be no transfer portal movement out of East Lansing.
Izzo tells @mattcharboneau that he’s “really not” worried about someone leaving unexpectedly from his team.
