Michigan State basketball coach Tom Izzo is fired up for the school’s football program after his team’s latest win.

The Spartans took down the High Point Panthers on Wednesday after struggling out of the gate.

MSU was down 35-34 at halftime before outscoring High Point 47-33 in the second half to ultimately win, 81-68. Gabe Brown led the way with 24 points and 7 rebounds, while Joey Hauser registered a double-double with 17 points and 11 rebounds.

After the contest, Izzo spoke to the fans who came out to watch and gave a special shoutout to the football program with its bowl game on the horizon.

“Make sure you save a little bit of voice for that football team,” Izzo said. “Let’s go kick some ass.”

MSU is playing Pittsburgh in the Peach Bowl on Thursday evening and it’s expected to be a close contest, despite Kenneth Walker III and Kenny Pickett not playing.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. ET.
