Michigan State is one of the blue bloods in not just the B1G but all of college basketball. However, after a mediocre campaign last season, Michigan State is going under the radar heading into the 2021-22 season.
Michigan State is currently not ranked in the AP Top 25. Michigan State coach Tom Izzo is annoyed but taking a measured approach to the lack of preseason praise.
Izzo on being out of AP top 25: “It does tick me off. but I understand it.”

Michigan State went 15-13 and lost in the First Four of the NCAA Tournament last season.
Izzo is a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Izzo has been the head coach at Michigan State since 1995, guiding the program to a national title in 2000, 10 B1G regular season titles, and six B1G conference tournament titles.
Michigan State will have a chance to make an immediate statement when they face Kansas on Nov. 9 (Time TBD/ESPN) in its season opener.
