Tom Izzo had to wait for more than a week, but the legendary Michigan State head coach has now finally tied the all-time Big Ten wins mark.

With an 86-74 comeback victory over Oregon on Saturday, Izzo officially matched the late Bobby Knight with his 353rd career Big Ten win. The ninth-ranked Spartans trailed by 14 on their home floor at the halftime break, but they used a 12-0 run out of the break to get back into the game and then a 17-2 run midway through the half to flip things.

Michigan State won 13 straight games throughout December and January to draw Izzo without range of the record, but lost back-to-back in Los Angeles in recent days to delay the achievement.

In doing so, though, Michigan State may have written an even sweeter script.

Izzo tied the conference wins record in front of his home crowd. And now he’ll have the chance to break Knight’s record in front of those same fans next Tuesday when the Spartans host none other than Indiana.

The Hoosiers went into Saturday’s contest with Michigan at 14-9 on the season, but they’ve lost 6 of their last 7.

Tuesday’s contest between MSU and IU is scheduled to tip at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock.
