Tom Izzo updates status of postponed Michigan State-Minnesota game
Tom Izzo and Michigan State have been awaiting word on the potential of getting the game against Minnesota rescheduled. That game was originally scheduled for Feb. 15 but was postponed due to the deadly shooting on the East Lansing campus.
Unfortunately, Izzo confirmed on Monday that the contest will not be rescheduled. Izzo voiced some frustrations at the decision and put the blame on the B1G office. In the end, the head coach admitted no one might be to blame considering all the circumstances involved.
Izzo says the Big Ten will send something out today about the MSU-Minnesota game. Doesn’t sound like it’ll be made up. “There were not a lot of options, so do not blame” Rutgers coach Steve Pikiell. Puts blame on the B1G office for not handling it earlier. “It’s too bad.”

Izzo: “Maybe it’s nobody’s fault because of the way everything happened.”

Without the game against Minnesota, the Spartans will finish the year with games at Nebraska Tuesday night and home Saturday vs. Ohio State. The Spartans are 17-11 overall and 9-8 in B1G play but have stumbled coming out of the recent tragedy.
Michigan State did knock off Indiana at home but lost to Michigan on the road and led a double-digit lead slip away in a road loss to Iowa on Saturday.
