Tom Izzo voices frustration with status of Michigan State-Minnesota game
Tom Izzo is frustrated that Michigan State’s game against Minnesota has yet to be rescheduled.
The MSU head coach was speaking to reporters Thursday when the Minnesota game was brought up. Izzo called on Big Ten administrators to get it sorted out.
Izzo: “In the last 10 days since this has happened, I’ve had a lot of things on my plate, one is not to be the commissioner or the head of the Big Ten or the scheduling man or any of those people. So yeah, I’m a little frustrated. Next question.”

The Spartans and Gophers were scheduled to play Feb. 15, but the game was postponed when MSU paused activities following the on-campus shooting. The window to reschedule is closing.
Michigan State wraps up regular-season play on March 4 against Ohio State. The Big Ten Tournament is scheduled to begin on March 8 in Chicago. Izzo’s squad is scheduled to play at Iowa on Saturday and at Nebraska next Tuesday.
Graham Couch of the Lansing State Journal speculates that another team may have to get involved in the process. Rutgers may have to agree to move to a game.
Rutgers plays tonight. It’ll interesting if Steve Pikiell gets asked whether he’s willing to play next Thursday’s scheduled game at Minnesota next Tuesday instead, to help MSU get its game against the Gophers in next Thursday.
