Tom Izzo’s facial expression perfectly sums up B1G officiating

Michigan State hadn’t played 20 minutes in the 2021 B1G Tournament, and already Tom Izzo was fed up with the officiating.

Thursday morning, the B1G Tournament tipped off Round 2 with Michigan State and Maryland for the first game of the day. Both the Spartans and Terrapins could used a win to ensure their spot in the NCAA Tournament, so it’s an important matchup for both squads.

Izzo apparently doesn’t feel like the game was being officiated like an important contest.

Late in the second half, the Spartans were whistled for a questionable foul that put Maryland at the free throw line. Izzo’s response, following a few suspect calls, was hilarious:

Classic Izzo.

But it probably wasn’t just the officiating that was frustrating for Izzo. Michigan State built an early double-digit lead on Maryland and appeared to be cruising through the first 10 minutes. But the Terrapins bounced back to take a 34-30 lead into the break.

Maryland is currently considered Last Four In team while Michigan State seems to have locked up a spot with a season-ending win over Michigan.
