Tom Izzo has won over 600 games, claimed nine B1G regular season titles, appeared in eight Final Fours and won a national championsip. But Michigan State’s exhibition game against Albion on Tuesday night might’ve provided the longtime head coach with the best moment of his career.

That’s because Izzo’s son, walk-on freshman Steven Izzo, checked into Tuesday night’s exhibition contest to make his first appearance in a Spartans uniform. He also scored his first career point with the program, knocking down a free throw late in the game.

Big Ten Network captured the moment, posting the video in a tweet.

That had to be one of the best moments in Izzo’s coaching career, even with all the accomplishments and accolades he’s earned throughout his tenure.

After the game, Izzo said it will likely be the only time this season Steven steps on the floor for the Spartans. Early season games sometimes get out of hand with mismatches on the floor, so there’s a chance Steven plays again, but only time will tell.

Steven played for three minutes and knocked down 1-of-2 free throw attempts. The Spartans won the exhibition game 85-50.
