Clay Travis already made his opinions known about the B1G this season.

In a year in which the B1G has five teams in the top 14, while the SEC only has two, he claimed that the SEC would still be favored in a majority of crossover games.

So it shouldn’t come as much of surprise that Travis’ SEC claws came out when he was a guest on the “The Paul Finebaum Show.” When breaking down the Alabama-Michigan State matchup in the Cotton Bowl, Travis threw out another wild claim.

Michigan State is a 9.5-point underdog heading into its matchup with Alabama. Apparently that’s not a big enough spread for Travis.

It’s worth noting of course that the Spartans have four victories against the current top 20 this season, and knocked off a pair of top-five opponents to get into the College Football Playoff. Never mind the fact that MSU has won three straight games against top-five teams and has four losses by an average of nine points in the last three years.

Still, Travis decided MSU is no match for almighty Alabama, which lost to a different surging B1G team at the same exact point last year.

Just add this to the never-ending supply of chip-on-the-shoulder material Mark Dantonio has for his squad leading up to the New Year’s Eve showdown.
