Michigan State’s offense and quarterback situation has been the focus throughout the spring.

After a less-than-impressive year offensively and Brian Lewerke dealing with a shoulder injury last fall, there’s been a particular interest in how much the Spartans improve on that side of the football heading into 2019. One throw can’t define an entire offense, but this play was a pretty good sign for Michigan State.

Brian Lewerke delivered a perfect strike to Darrell Steward in the end zone during Michigan State’s spring game on Saturday. It was one of the better throws we’ve seen from Lewerke in awhile.

In the offseason, Mark Dantonio shifted around his staff hoping to generate some new looks and momentum. It’ll be hard to determine just how much progress the offense makes, but it’s a positive to see the Spartans converting from the red zone.

It’s even better to see Lewerke hitting his targets and receivers catching passes.
