Felton Davis III is one of the top returning receivers in the B1G. And he showed why early in Michigan State’s season opener against Utah State.

In the first quarter of the Friday night bout, Davis came up with an impressive catch with an Aggies defender draped over him. It looked like the ball might tumble to the ground, but the star receiver was able to use his strong hands to keep the ball in his possession.

Davis’ catch wasn’t a huge gain, but it did set the Spartans up for an early field goal.

Davis caught 55 passes for 776 yards and nine touchdowns for Michigan State last season and was one of the top receivers in the B1G.

If he continues to make plays like that, he’ll prove to be one of the best pass-catchers in the league again this year.
