Just as everyone predicted, struggling Michigan State went into Happy Valley as a two-touchdown underdog to No. 8-ranked Penn State and found a way to leave with a 21-17 win.

It was a tremendous win for the now 4-2 Spartans, serving as the much-needed boost to their season and potentially altering the landscape of the Big Ten championship race.

The Land Grant Trophy is staying in East Lansing for at least another year, as Michigan State increases its tight lead in the rivalry series 17–15–1. MSU has won five of the last six matchups overall.
