Big hits are always fun to watch.

Even in today’s world of football, though they may be harder to legally accomplish, huge hits are must-see. On Saturday, in the game between Michigan State-Purdue, the Spartans were holding onto a tight 16-13 lead in the fourth quarter.

Purdue was driving and QB David Blough threw to TE Brycen Hopkins. Hopkins made the catch, but then got absolutely blasted by Michigan State LB Tyriq Thompson. The ball ended up coming loose, but it stayed on Hopkins’ leg.

Thompson then took the ball, resulting in an interception:

What a play by the junior LB. You not only get a sensational hit, but the thought to grab the ball directly afterwards is what makes this play truly special.

Michigan State still leads Purdue by 3 in the fourth quarter with under 5 minutes remaining. You can watch on ESPN.
