What Mark Dantonio said after Michigan State's last-second upset over Penn State
Michigan State has so many injuries.
The Spartans weren’t living up to expectations this year. A tough schedule was looming. Going on the road to play No. 8 Penn State wasn’t going to be easy.
All of this was true. But even so, Michigan State still went into Happy Valley Saturday afternoon and came away with a 21-17 victory. Thanks to Michigan State’s defense, Penn State scored just 3 points in the second half.
And with one drive remaining, the Spartans connected on a 25-yard TD pass from QB Brian Lewerke to WR Felton Davis III with just 17 seconds left. The score gave Michigan State a 21-17 lead and Penn State threw a hail mary to end the game.
The pass was batted down and the Spartans moved on. Michigan State is now 4-2 on the season.
