There’s a new all-time blocks leader in East Lansing.
On Tuesday night, Xavier Tillman collected his 147th career block at Michigan State, while helping the Spartans get a 78-70 victory over Iowa. He passed Matt Costello to take the top spot in program history.
The block came against Iowa star big man Luka Garza, who many believe is a strong candidate to win the National Player of the Year award. Tillman is now No. 40 in all-time B1G history, as well.

Tillman finished the game with six points, six rebounds and an assist in the victory. It was a huge win for the Spartans, which have kept their hopes of another B1G regular season title alive. At 11-6 in conference play, they’re 1.5 games behind Maryland for the top spot.
Michigan State is 19-9 on the season.
