No. 7 Michigan State had a chance to get back in the main discussion for the B1G East Divisional title and the College Football Playoff with a big win over No. 4 Ohio State. Instead, Michigan State was dominated on both sides of the ball as the Spartans suffered an embarrassing 56-7 loss to Ohio State. The Buckeyes outscored the Spartans 49-0 in the first half.

Despite a tough 40-29 road loss to Purdue a few weeks ago, Michigan State was still in reach for the Playoff and the B1G East division. This loss kills all momentum for both goals as the offense and defense completely fell apart.

After the game, Michigan State head coach Mel Tucker showed his determination to the building of the program, both physically and mentally. Tucker said there will not be any players that will blame each other in the locker room or point fingers.

Along with that, Tucker cited a zero-tolerance for excuses claiming that is a sign of a “loser’s mentality.” Even with the loss, Tucker and the Spartans can get to 10 wins if they regroup and beat Penn State to finish the season.
