Yet another Minnesota football player has decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal. Multiple Gophers have decided to explore their options since the conclusion of spring practice on Saturday.

This time, it’s third-year defensive back Solomon Brown who has entered his name into the database. He appeared in 7 games with the Golden Gophers but never played in more than 4 contests in a single season.

“I would like to thank Coach Fleck and the University of Minnesota for giving me the opportunity to chase my dreams,” Brown wrote on Twitter. “I am now officially in the transfer portal with 3 years of eligibility left.”

In his 7 appearances, Brown was credited with making 4 total tackles. He saw the most action during the 2020 campaign, playing in 4 games. The defensive back made 3 stops that year, all of which were solo. All 3 came in the opener against Michigan.

Brown will have three years of eligibility to use at his next destination. The Largo, Fla. native was a 3-star member of Minnesota’s 2019 class.
