Minnesota is facing a tough Auburn defense this postseason, and the task facing the Gophers just got a bit tougher.

Defensive lineman Derrick Brown is a massive and disruptive force for the Auburn defense. Listed at 6-foot-5 and 318 lbs., Brown is a rare combination of power and speed upfront. Brown has 33 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks in his career.

He also announced on Friday that he will be playing in the Outback Bowl:

Brown was potentially viewed as a first-round pick for 2019 before deciding to come back to Auburn for his senior season. Now, most view Brown as a high first-round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft.

A number of players have started sitting out postseason bowl games in order to preserve draft stock and avoid injury, but Brown will not be among that group. His decision also just made the Outback Bowl a bit tougher for the Gophers.
