The Big Ten Network’s Joshua Perry believes Minnesota running back Mohamed Ibrahim is a top 5 player in the Big Ten.

He put him at No. 4 in the latest edition of his JP30 countdown, which ranks the top 30 players in the conference.

Ibrahim is coming off his 2nd 1,000 yard rushing season of his collegiate career as he had 1,076 yards rushing on 201 carries with 15 touchdowns in 2020. His 2018 season was even better as he finished with 202 carries for 1,160 yards rushing and 9 touchdowns.

It’s not hard to see why Perry included Ibrahim as a top 5 player in the conference and he expanded on it here:

“Coming in at No. 4 on my list is Mohamed Ibrahim from Minnesota,” Perry said. “He’s a guy who is an owner of numerous school records at Minnesota. And he put the Big Ten on notice especially last year with some of his performances. His presence is felt all over the conference and it’s felt all over the field. Mo Ibrahim averaged about 150 rushing yards per game, which is just a phenomenal number. In 2020 with a team that, to be completely honest, was a little bit depleted especially at the offensive line position.”

Perry also loves how Ibrahim doesn’t just beat you with speed, but with power as well:

“One of his best attributes is coming downhill. He can get you all the tough yards. When he gets in the open field, he has that burst too. My expectations are extremely high for this guy.”

Ibrahim will have his first chance at cracking out another 1,000-yard season when the Golden Gophers open their season on Sept. 2 against Ohio State.
