Benjamin St-Juste’s NFL career is off to a strong start as he continues to make a strong impression with the Washington Football Team.

The former Minnesota Golden Gopher was selected in the third round of this year’s NFL Draft, coming off the board with the 74th overall pick. Now in his first NFL training camp, St-Juste is catching the eye of head coach Ron Rivera.

When it comes to comparisons, Rivera sees a lot of former All-Pro cornerback Charles Tillman in St-Juste:

“Watching him, he’s built like [Tillman], he’s got that mentality,” Rivera said. “You always watch him going after the football. So, when I try to compare him to somebody, I’m doing that because I see things that tell me, ‘Hey, this is what this kid’s skill set is all about.'”

Among other things, Rivera went on to praise St-Juste’s vision and ability to keep his focus on the quarterback while knowing where his receiver is at all times:

“He has tremendous vision and understands how to play with vision,” Rivera said. “He can look through the receiver to the QB with one eye on the QB and still know where his receiver is, which allows him to have great anticipation, jump and make plays. He’s done a really good job showing us that he plays the whole play.”

Hopefully, this is just the beginning for St-Juste as he tries to carve out playing time as a rookie in the NFL.
