Minnesota tight-end Brevyn Spann-Ford has announced that he will return to the program for his sixth collegiate season. A week ago, he said that he would announce his decision ahead of his team’s matchup with Syracuse in the pinstripe bowl..

On his 23rd birthday, Spann-Ford posted a brilliant retro video game-themed announcement video, gifting Gopher fans with another season. He ended the video with “I’m back” — ending all speculation of whether or not he stays.

Spann-Ford should see a larger role in the passing game with running back Mohamed Ibrahim heading to the 2023 NFL Draft. According to Pro Football Focus, Spann-Ford was the 3rd-highest graded tight end along with the 7th-highest run blocker and 14th-highest receiver at his position.

Spann-Ford’s return provides a huge boost to a Minnesota team looking for a conference championship berth in the wide-open B1G West.
