On Monday night, suspended Minnesota defensive end Tamarion Johnson announced that he was transferring to Arizona Western Community College.

On Tuesday afternoon, Minnesota defensive back Ray Buford Jr. announced that he’ll do the same.

Buford and Johnson will both leave Minnesota after the university’s disciplinary panel upheld their expulsions for their roles in an alleged Sept. 2 sexual assault.

Here was part of Buford’s statement on Twitter:

“Minnesota will forever be the greatest decision of my life. Despite everything that has unfolded, I have managed to make friendships and relationship that will last a lifetime. I have brothers that will back and support me through anything. But I think it’s safe to say that my time here is over and done. … Thank you to all my coaches, teammates and friends here in Minnesota. I will never forget you.”

Buford played in seven games and had 16 tackles and three pass breakups as a redshirt freshman in 2016.

Defensive backs KiAnte Hardin and Dior Johnson are also facing expulsion from the university. It’s unknown if they’ll be transferring from Minnesota, as well.
