Minnesota only scored 10 points against Bowling Green on Saturday — and the quarterback play was a big part of those struggles.

Gophers quarterback Tanner Morgan had a rough go against BGSU, completing just 5 of 13 passes for 59 yards and 2 interceptions. Granted, Minnesota was without receiver Chris Autman-Bell due to injury, but those struggles go beyond not having your top receiver.

But Minnesota coach PJ Fleck isn’t thinking about replacing Morgan as QB1. He stood by his starter in his postgame press conference.

Morgan currently ranks 10th out of 13 quarterbacks in the B1G with 160.3 passing yards per game and sits 12th in completion percentage at 160.3%. With star running back Mo Ibrahim out for the season with a leg injury, there’s more pressure on Morgan to find a groove and get Minnesota on track into B1G play.

The Golden Gophers open conference play next week against Purdue.
