Chris Autman-Bell reacts to news of season-ending injury following Week 3
Minnesota suffered a big loss on Saturday as WR Chris Autman-Bell went down with a leg injury. On Monday, Minnesota head coach PJ Fleck announced that Autman-Bell’s season was over, as the injury would require surgery.
As the Minnesota receiver is a senior in his sixth year, a special waiver will be requested to allow him eligibility for a seventh year, should he wish to continue playing.
The WR tweeted about his injury on Monday, and the tweet seemed to indicate that he would indeed return for year number 7 with the Gophers.

Autman-Bell seemed to mostly take the injury in stride, noting that his injury was just preparation for the future.

A return of the WR would be a boon for the Gophers, as Autman-Bell is a top producer for the gophers. He caught 8 receptions for 156 yards in the first two games for Minnesota and had 3 receptions for 58 yards and a touchdown before being injured in last week’s game.
Autman-Bell was the leading producer for the Gophers last season as well, with 36 receptions for 506 yards and 6 touchdowns.
