College GameDay likely to feature Minnesota's walk-on punter who is a four-time cancer survivor
College football’s 2019 season is almost here.
We’re in early August and we’re just a few weeks away before the season kicks off. For Minnesota, the Golden Gophers begin their campaign on Aug. 29 at home against South Dakota State.
Throughout each week in the college football season, ESPN’s College GameDay crew travels to a site featuring a big-time college football game. For Week 1, the crew has already announced that it will be traveling to AT&T Stadium for the Auburn-Oregon game.
There are many things that make College GameDay each week great. The atmosphere, the analysis, the signs — everything.
Another aspect that makes College GameDay a must-watch every Saturday morning are the features. The crew typically features unique and impactful stories across college football.
It appears that for one segment, they will be featuring Minnesota walk-on punter Casey O’Brien.

O’Brien is a four-time cancer survivor and he gave an extremely passionate speech during the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon at B1G Media Days in mid-July.
