P.J. Fleck is showing no signs of slowing down on the recruiting trail. On Monday, the Gophers landed their eighth commitment since Saturday afternoon, the latest coming out of SEC country.

Monday night, three-star cornerback Victor Pless announced his commitment to Minnesota via Twitter. He becomes the latest prospect to pledge to the Gophers in what has been a busy and lucrative four days in Minneapolis.

“I would like to thank my family for supporting me and helping me throughout this process. I would also like to thank my coaches and trainers for believing in me and helping me strengthen my abilities. Finally, thank you to all the Minnesota coaches for believing in me,” Pless wrote on Twitter. “With that being said, after a great official visit, I am excited to announce that i am committed to The University of Minnesota!!”

Pless is a talented cornerback out of Kennesaw, Georgia who has raked in over two dozen offers this cycle. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect chose Minnesota over offers from Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Syracuse and West Virginia, among several others.

247Sports has Pless ranked around the top 100 as an athlete in the 2020 class and out of the state of Georgia.

Minnesota’s success on the recruiting trail over the last four days has led to quite the leap in the recruiting rankings. The Gophers currently own the fifth-best class in the B1G and rank No. 24 nationally.

There are 16 players who have given their verbal commitments to Fleck and company.
