Darius Taylor, star Minnesota RB, receives status for Week 6 vs. Michigan
Darius Taylor is Minnesota’s dynamic true freshman running back. Unfortunately, Taylor has been battling an ailment, and he was once again listed on Minnesota’s availability report ahead of the Week 6 kickoff.
Taylor was officially ruled out when the Gophers released the weekly status report mandated by the B1G. It will be his second straight game on the sidelines after appearing in the first 4 games of the season.
Taylor leads the Gophers with 532 rushing yards and has been averaging 6.1 yards per carry. He is also the team leader with 4 rushing touchdowns and tied with receiver Daniel Jackson for touchdowns by a skill player.
In a Week 5 win over Louisiana, Zach Evans and Bryce Williams split the carries evenly with 15 apiece. Evans led the way with 85 yards per carry while Williams added 53. Sean Tyler also had 47 rushing yards.
Minnesota was already a big underdog for the showdown against Michigan, the No. 2 team in the country. The task will be even tougher without Taylor in the lineup.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
