One week after a 31-17 loss to Purdue on the road, the Minnesota Golden Gophers face Michigan State, who garnering more attention after upsetting Michigan last Saturday.

When asked if he was surprised that Michigan State (4-1) beat Michigan on the road, Minnesota coach P.J. Fleck gave his honest thoughts during his Wednesday press conference.

Minnesota is 3-2 this season and currently riding a two-game losing streak, dropping its first two Big Ten games against Maryland and Purdue. They haven’t beat Michigan State since 2013, who holds a four-game winning streak over the Golden Gophers.

The Golden Gophers offense has struggled, averaging just 359.8 yards of total offense per game and 28 points per contest, which is 77th-best in the nation, this season.
