Former Gophers DB agrees to terms with Tennessee Titans
A former Minnesota defensive back is on his way to Nashville.
Wednesday morning, the Tennessee Titans announced that they have agreed to terms with Briean Boddy-Calhoun. He has been in the league for five years and has had stops with the Cleveland Browns, Houston Texans, Indianapolis Colts and San Francisco 49ers.
To make room for Boddy-Calhoun, Tennessee placed Chris Jones on the Reserve/COVID-19 list. He is also a defensive back.
Boddy-Calhoun has appeared in 47 career games in the NFL and has made 22 starts. Over his five seasons, the former Minnesota standout has collected 148 tackles, broken up 19 passes, registered 3 sacks and hauled in 3 interceptions.
After going undrafted in 2016, Boddy-Calhoun was initially signed as a free agent by the Jacksonville Jaguars. However, he was waived by the franchise and then landed with the Browns, where he spent his first three seasons. Boddy-Calhoun then split time with the Texans and Colts in 2019 and played for the 49ers during the 2020 campaign.
Wednesday morning is when the Titans will open training camp.
