Former Minnesota defensive lineman Keonte Schad is heading to the Pac-12.

Over the weekend, the senior tackle announced on Twitter that he has committed to finish his career at Oregon State. His announcement comes just a few weeks after entering his name into the NCAA transfer portal to explore his options.

He spent two seasons at Minnesota, transferring in from Ellsworth Community College in Iowa.

Schad appeared in four games for the Golden Gophers last season and was credited with 8 tackles. He posted a season-high 3 stops in Minnesota’s win over Nebraska late in the season and had two tackles in both the Michigan and Wisconsin games.

Last season, Schad was an Academic All-B1G selection.

In 2019, Schad played in all 13 games at Minnesota during an impressive 11-2 campaign. He was responsible for 21 stops and totaled 2.5 tackles for loss throughout the course of the season. Schad recorded a career-best 5 tackles in a win over Georgia Southern, including 1 for loss.
