Kamal Martin had his NFL debut delayed due to injury, but he was productive when he finally took the field.

After being selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft, the former Minnesota star had a strong showing in training camp. Unfortunately, a knee injury and surgery kept him sidelined and on injured reserve to start the season.

Fortunately, Martin was finally activated and received the starting nod in Sunday’s game against the Houston Texans. It was Martin’s NFL debut, and he looked good for much of the afternoon.

All in all, Martin finished the day with six tackles, all of which were registered as solo tackles, including a tackle for loss. He helped lead a Packer defense that forced two fumbles and held the Texans to 20 points in the Green Bay win.

Hopefully Martin is able to stay healthy and productive for Green Bay. If he continues to produce, he could turn into the steal of the 2020 NFL Draft.
