The fourth verbal pledge of Minnesota’s 2021 class has arrived.

Over the weekend, the Golden Gophers received a verbal commitment from three-star offensive tackle Logan Purcell, a native of Annandale, Minn. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound offensive tackle is ranked as the No. 7 player from the state for the 2021 recruiting cycle, according to 247Sports.

“I am excited to accept an ELITE offer to play football at the University of Minnesota,” Purcell wrote in note on Twitter, announcing his commitment. Per 247Sports, he becomes the fourth hard commitment of the 2021 class for the Gophers.

Purcell held offers from Minnesota and South Dakota, but also showed interest in Michigan State, Iowa and North Dakota.

With Purcell’s commitment, Minnesota currently ranks fourth in the B1G with its 2021 recruiting class. The Gophers are sitting at No. 11 nationally. Obviously, it’s still very early in the recruiting process, as the 2020 class isn’t completely finished yet.

Minnesota is coming off an 11-2 season in 2019.
