Gophers get pledge from former Vanderbilt DL via transfer
Defensive lineman Lorenza Surgers is heading to Minnesota after spending the past 3 years with Vanderbilt. He is a senior with another 2 years of eligibility left.
He appeared in 18 games for the Commodores. Surgers recorded 19 total tackles, 10 solo tackles, 9 assisted tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, and 1 sack in his Vanderbilt career. Surgers announced his commitment to the Golden Gophers from his Twitter account on Tuesday.

Surgers might as well play on that huge offensive line of Minnesota with how big he is. He comes in at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds.
He will definitely add some power on the defensive line with his size. The Golden Gophers will welcome his addition after losing D-lineman Nyles Pinckney, Micah Dew-Treadway, Val Martin, Esezi Otomewo, and Boye Mafe who are out of eligibility following the 2021 season.
He’ll now be heading from Nashville to Minneapolis.
