Minnesota is set to begin spring practice later this month, head coach P.J. Fleck revealed.

Andy Greder of the Pioneer Press reported that the Gophers are scheduled to start their spring practice season on Monday, March 29. The news comes via Fleck on Monday. There was no mention of a spring game date at this time.

The Gophers will fit in 15 practices over the next month or so to prepare for the 2021 season. It will mark the fifth year of the Fleck era in the Twin Cities. Last year, Minnesota finished the year with a 3-4 record.

In four seasons at Minnesota, Fleck has compiled a 26-19 record with a 15-19 mark in B1G play. The Gophers have appeared in two bowl games, winning both the Quick Lane Bowl in 2018 and the Outback Bowl following the 2019 season.

Minnesota will have to prepare at a high level in the spring and the fall as the team is set to open the year on Thursday, Sept. 2 with a home game against B1G champion Ohio State.
