Intentional or not, Minnesota caught the attention of B1G fans early Tuesday morning, and created a stir of excitement with a tweet that might be considered a “tease” of news to come.
On Tuesday morning, the official Twitter account of Minnesota Football tweeted out an interesting poll question on social media. The question? When was the last time the Gophers started a football season in October.
That is…interesting timing, to say the least.

Currently, B1G presidents and chancellors are mulling over a return-to-competition plan for the college football season. The group has met multiple times, starting over the weekend and continuing into Tuesday, but no decision has been reached at this time.
It’s thought that one of the target dates for a restart is October 17, which would likely allow time for the B1G to squeeze in at least eight games and play a conference championship game, as well. That would likely mean the B1G would at least receive some consideration for a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Whether it was accidental or intentional, Minnesota got some hopes up on Tuesday morning. We’ll see if it’s any indication of what’s to come.
