The Golden Gophers will be without one of their defensive lineman on defense for Saturday’s game against Colorado.
According to Andy Greder, Rashad Cheney didn’t even make the trip to Colorado and it’s unclear why.
Note: #Gophers third-year defensive tackle Rashad Cheney did not make the trip to Colorado; he is the most noticeable absence spotted during warmups. It's unclear on the reason why. He played against Ohio State and Miami (Ohio).

Cheney appeared in both games against Ohio State and Miami (Ohio) but didn’t log any tackles against them. He did play sparingly in 2020 though as he finished with 6 total tackles (5 solo) with 1 pass defended.
Both Minnesota and Colorado come into this game at 1-1 as the Gophers have beaten Miami (Ohio), but lost to the Buckeyes in Week 1, 45-31. Colorado has beaten Northern Colorado but lost to Texas A&M last Saturday in a close affair, 10-7.
The game can currently be seen on the PAC-12 Network as there’s no score (at the time of this writing).
