Minnesota athletic director Mark Coyle will be representing the B1G on the NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Committee. The association announced the news on Thursday afternoon.
Coyle will be one of five new members on the committee. The new additions include:
- Greg Byrne, Alabama
- Martin Jarmond, UCLA
- Mark Coyle, Minnesota
- Barry Collier, Butler
- Keith Gill, Sun Belt

Per a release from Minnesota, the committee consists of one member selected from each of the five autonomy conferences and three members from the seven highest-ranked nonautonomy conferences based on basketball success.
Coyle’s appointment will last for five years.
Coyle was named the athletic director at Minnesota in May 2016 and was an administrator within the school’s athletic department from 2001-05. He has also had stops as the athletic director at Syracuse, Boise State and was the deputy athletics director at Kentucky.
