Minnesota’s 2021 recruiting class received a boost heading into the weekend.

Friday, three-star wide receiver Brady Boyd announced his commitment to Minnesota, becoming the second wide receiver of the cycle to give a verbal pledge to P.J. Fleck and the Gophers. The Southlake, Texas native is the sixth player to commit to the program, as well.

“I would like to thank my family, my friends, and all the coaches that have helped me get to where I am today. Also I would like to thank the Southlake community for their support on and off the field,” Boyd wrote on Twitter. “With that being said I am proud and excited to announce that I will be committing to the University of Minnesota!!”

Boyd is listed as a 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect, per 247Sports. He’s ranked as one of the top 100 players from Texas, a hotbed for college football recruiting.

Boyd was a heavily-recruited prospect, receiving 18 offers during the recruiting cycle. In addition to Minnesota, he also had interest from Power Five programs Kansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and Utah.

Minnesota’s 2021 recruiting class now ranks 17th nationally and seventh in the B1G. Below are some highlights of Boyd, as posted to his Twitter account:
