Minnesota adds Sun Belt opponent to 2023 schedule
It’s still a few years away, but Minnesota has completed its 2023 football schedule.
Thursday afternoon, Minnesota announced that it has added Louisiana out of the Sun Belt to its 2023 schedule. The game will be played on Sept. 30, 2023 at TCF Bank Stadium. The addition of the home game completes the Golden Gophers’ schedule for that season.

Minnesota will also have non-conference games against Eastern Michigan (Sept. 9) at home and will travel to North Carolina (Sept. 16). The Gophers will open the 2023 season at TCF Bank Stadium against B1G West foe Nebraska.
The Gophers and Ragin’ Cajuns have met three times previously, with Minnesota winning all three contests. The two teams collided in consecutive years from 2001-03, with two games played in Minneapolis and one game in Lafayette. Minnesota won those three matchups by an average of 29.3 points per game.
