Minnesota will have the maximum amount of fan support when they take on West Virginia in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.

The Golden Gophers announced a sellout of its ticket allotment for the contest. The program appreciates the dedication of the fan base to make the trip to Phoenix.

“We are excited to compete in front of thousands of Minnesota fans at the Guaranteed Rate Bowl,” Director of Athletics Mark Coyle said. “Our fans are tremendous, and I know they are excited to head to Phoenix to cheer on the Gophers.”

Minnesota has an 8-4 overall record and is second place in the B1G West. The Golden Gophers are on a two-game winning streak with victories vs. Indiana and then-No. 14 Wisconsin.

West Virginia is 6-6 overall and fifth place in the Big 12. The Mountaineers are also on a two-game winning streak after defeating Texas and Kansas.

This is the first meeting between the programs.
