Minnesota has added an experienced big man to its roster for the 2023-24 season.
Jack Wilson, a 6-11, 315-pound center, has signed with the Gophers. He spent 2020-23 at Washington State as a 2-sport athlete, joining the basketball team for the 2022-23 campaign.
“Jack is a strong, physical player who fits the Big Ten and its style of play,” Johnson said in a program release. “He’s a willing worker, loves to compete and is a good athlete. Over the course of his career, he’s been around some great programs and understands what it takes to be successful. We’re excited to have Jack join the team and look forward to working with him.”
Wilson is well-traveled. His college sports career as a basketball began in the 2018-19 season at Oregon State. He played in 7 games before transferring to Idaho.
From 2020-22, Wilson was a member of the Washington State football team. He played in 25 games for the Cougars. After completing his football career, he returned to the hardwood. Last season, he appeared in 14 games averaging 2.9 minutes per contest.
By the grace of God I’ve been blessed with an amazing journey through collegiate sports. I look forward to sharing what I’ve gained through my experiences with those around me, and doing whatever I can for this team and staff at the University of Minnesota. GO GOPHERS!!! pic.twitter.com/61oOX0YOSz
