A Minnesota forward is looking for a new home after opting out of the 2020-21 college basketball season.
Ryan Burns of 247Sports reported on Tuesday that Jarvis Omersa has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal. The news comes a day after Richard Pitino was fired as head coach following eight years with the program. The Gophers finished the year 14-15 and failed to make the NCAA Tournament.
Omersa opted out of this past season after playing in a handful of games. He appeared in 64 career games with the Golden Gophers and spent three seasons in the Twin Cities.

The 6-foot-6 forward averaged 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds since the 2018-19 season while playing just under 10 minutes per contest. He was a member of Minnesota’s 2018 recruiting class and was a 3-star prospect.
Omersa is a native of Long Lake, Minnesota. It’s unclear where he plans to transfer at this time.
