A Minnesota freshman defensive back is in the transfer portal.

247Sports is reporting that Abner Dubar has entered his name into the NCAA transfer portal and will explore his options outside of the Twin Cities. He was a 3-star member of the Gophers’ 2020 recruiting class.

The native of Anna, Texas was ranked as one of the Top 75 safeties in the 2020 class and was a Top 125 prospect out of Texas.

Dubar had over a dozen offers during the recruiting cycle, but chose Minnesota over other Power 5 programs like Colorado, Texas Tech, Baylor, Kansas and Washington State.

Dubar, listed at 6-foot-1, 185 pounds, did not see any game action in his lone season with the Golden Gophers. He will have all four years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.
