P.J. Fleck was brought in to Minnesota to help strengthen the program and build something special.

Fleck, in his second season, has gotten the Golden Gophers to a bowl game — the Quick Lane Bowl on Dec. 26 — and the future is looking bright. One of the reasons for the bowl appearance and a bright future is what Fleck is doing on the recruiting trail.

On Friday night, Fleck got 4-star DT Kristian Williams, from Memphis, Ten., to commit for 2019:

Williams posted his commitment at 11:37 p.m., so many Gopher and Big Ten fans may have been asleep. However, in 2019, opposing teams shouldn’t be sleeping on the 6-foot-3, 297-pound commit.

If Minnesota is able to start battling opposing B1G teams at the line of scrimmage weekly, 37-15 wins over teams like Wisconsin may start happening more frequently.

Minnesota’s 2019 class now consists of 24 members and ranks No. 34 nationally and No. 8 in the Big Ten.
