Minnesota goes international, lands verbal commitment from CB out of Netherlands
Minnesota went overseas to land its latest commitment.
Sunday, cornerback Richard Agyekum announced his verbal pledge to the Golden Gophers over Twitter. A native of Netherlands, the versatile cornerback turned some heads during a football camp at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia recently.
Agyekum is fresh off a visit to Minnesota. He chose the Gophers over offers from Rutgers, Penn State and Cincinnati.
“After a great talk with (Coach P.J. Fleck), (Coach Rod Chance) (Coach Joe Harasymiak) I am proud to announce that I commit to the University of Minnesota,” Agyekum wrote.
