According to a report from the Star Tribune, the FBI is investigating possible fraud in the University of Minnesota ticket office.

The investigation was prompted after an internal audit of the university’s ticket office reportedly showed some discrepancies in ticket sales. According to the Star Tribune, the university turned over the investigation to the FBI.

That was three months after Gopher ticket operations director Brent Holck was fired in February. He had been the ticket manager at Minnesota since 2008.

What isn’t known is whether or not the investigation showed a widespread discrepancy across all Minnesota sports.

Last year, Minnesota had an average home attendance of 43,814. That was down 16 percent from the 52,355 fans the Gophers averaged at home games in 2015.

Minnesota has yet to comment on the reported FBI investigation.
